KCA Publishes, "A Study on Measuring Korea’s Consumer Detriment in e-Commerce" - 40% of Korean e-commerce consumers have experienced detriment, 10% points lower than the OECD average - Last year, 7 out of 10 people engaged in digital consumption, and the size of the online shopping market reached 228 trillion won in 2023, a record high*. However, at the same time, consumer detriment from e-commerce is also increasing. Accordingly, the Korea Consumer Agency (President Yoon Soo Hyun) measured the level of e-commerce consumer detriment and the amount of financial detriment felt by the public on a national basis based on the latest OECD data*. In particular, in addition to the items surveyed by the OECD, we also conducted a survey on the rate of detriment suffered by transaction type and the effect of participating in consumer education on the ability to seek redress. |
