Need to Institute Safety Management Procedures for Cotton Makeup Pads -- Bacteria and mold detected in selected products, in addition to groundless claims made, and manufacturing dates not displaye - Makeup pads are a product made of cotton or rayon that is mainly used in direct contact with the skin to remove makeup or cleanse the skin. Therefore, if managed unhygienically, there is a risk they might lead to dermatitis. Accordingly, as a result of the Korea Consumer Agency (President Yoon Soo Hyun) investigating the safety and labeling of 45 cotton cosmetic products distributed and sold in the market, bacteria and fungi (mold), etc. were detected in some products, while other products did not indicate the date of manufacture, indicating that safety regulations are needed. |
