Meeting Held with Related Ministries to Discuss a Response to Tackle Shrinkflation

-Strive to promote the provision of accurate information by encouraging a pledge with business operators

Cho Hong-sun, Vice Chairperson of the Korea Fair Trade Commission, held a meeting with ministries related to Shrinkflation (Ministry of Economy and Finance, Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, Ministry of Food and Drug Safety), consumer organizations, and the Korea Consumer Agency on Wednesday, November 22, 2023.

The meeting was held to discuss shrinkflation, which is currently a problem, with each ministry and organization, and to listen to various opinions on future plans to tackle it from the government as well as the private sector, which was represented by consumer groups, and industry. Other items on the agenda at the meeting included giving an update on the survey on shrinkflation that is currently underway and discussing matters requiring future cooperation between the Korea Fair Trade Commission, related organizations, and industry.
