With the onset of the aging society, there is growing interest in lutein functional health foods, which are known to help eye health by maintaining the macular pigment density, which can be reduced by aging. Accordingly, the Korea Consumer Agency has tested twelve lutein functional health food products with high consumer preference, and has found that the lutein and astaxanthin contents of all the tested products meet the daily intake range of functional health foods.
