Consumer Complaints Related to Refunds Increase

- When a ticket is canceled, refunds might get delayed for a long period or only be provided with the credits of their airline-


Consumer consultation requests related to low-cost carriers (LCC) VietJet Air and AirAsia* used by many Korean consumers often for overseas travel to countries in Southeast Asia have been steadily received, so caution and prudence should be exercised when the above airlines are used.

Serving routes to South Korea: AirAsia X (D7), Philippine AirAsia (Z2), Thai AirAsia X (XJ)

Many consumers have requested consultation as VietJet refunds for unused tickets in the form of credit (deposit) to be used for future purchases of its tickets and not in the form of its initial payment. AirAsia has delayed refunds for excessively long periods. In particular, consumer dissatisfaction has further worsened as these airlines fail to process refunds properly even when flights are canceled at their discretion for operational issues.
