Four Out of Ten Overseas Proxy Purchase Service Providers Are Unfamiliar With Electric Commerce Law - Businesses are relatively less aware of their duty to take measures in terms of cancellation and refund - There has been a widespread criticism that continual occurrence* of consumer complaints related to overseas proxy purchasing services is caused by the operators who are not familiar with domestic consumer protection laws. * Consumer complaint related to overseas proxy purchase : (’19) 10,385 → (’20) 7,802 → (’21) 7,229 Korea Consumer Agency (President Jang Duck-Jin, KCA) conducted a research of overseas proxy purchasing service providers on consumer protection laws (hereinafter referred to as the Electronic Commerce Act) and found that the operators are unaware of the obligations to protect consumers. |
