In 2021, Domestic Distribution of Products Recalled Overseas Increased by 150% Compared to the Previous Year

  Consumers are recommended to pay special attention to products recalled from overseas as they are continuously being distributed and sold in Korea through proxy purchasing services and online marketplaces.

□ In 2021, KCA advised to suspend sales of 382 products recalled overseas

  As a result of monitoring the domestic distribution of products recalled in China, the U.S. and Europe during 2021, Korea Consumer Agency (President Jang Duck-Jin, KCA) identified a total of 382 products and recommended correction (sales suspension, refund, disposal, etc.) to relevant businesses.

Regarding 377 products whose domestic importers and distributors have not been identified, KCA advised proxy purchase service operators to suspend sales or delete purchase page. On the other hand, businesses that imported or distributed the remaining five products* took voluntary measures such as refund or exchange.
