Beware Consumer Damages Caused by the Closure of Medical Institutions Recently, consumers who have purchased beauty·plastic medical service packages and made full payment in advance are not retrieving the remaining medical expenses from medical institutions that have abruptly gone out of business. After an analysis of consultations regarding the closure of medical institutions reported to 1372 Consumer Counseling Center*, Korea Consumer Agency(President Jang Duck-Jin, KCA) found that 70%(1,015) of 1,452 cases reported over the last 6 years are related to retrieval of prepaid medical expenses. * A nationwide integrated call center for consumer counseling operated by Korea Fair Trade Commission, in which KCA, Korea National Council of Consumer Organization and local governments participate |
