KCA-KATS, Issued a Safety Warning About ‘Button Battery Ingestion’

- The 254 cases of button batteries swallowing accidents occurred in the last 4 years and 7 months; infants and toddlers account for 86% -

□ Due to continued occurrences of button battery ingestion among infants and toddlers, the relevant authorities called for consumers’ attention while reinforcing safety standards.

ㅇ Korea Consumer Agency (President Jang Duck-Jin, KCA) and Korean Agency for Technology and Standards under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (President Lee Sang-Hoon, KATS) have issued a safety warning for button battery ingestion on September 16th.
