Cheap portable car seats found to have no safety certification marks and insufficient protection functions - Formaldehyde exceeding the permitted limit was detected in two (2) products - While portable car seats are gaining popularity with the legal car seats (vehicle protection devices for children) requirements applying to infants and children aged 6 years or younger, a large number of products without safety certification are being sold through overseas direct purchase (proxy purchase service). The Korea Consumer Agency (President Lee Hee-sook) investigated 15 cheap portable car seat products* together with the Korea Insurance Development Institute (Chairman & CEO Khang Ho), and found that all of the investigated products did not have any safety certification mark, and some of them did not meet safety standards. * 15 products that cost less than KRW 50,000 were selected among the products most frequently searched on Internet portals. |
