Buggy Wagons, Static Prevention Patch Provided For Free - Static electricity occurs in stroller use -
The HB International plans to provide free patches as the static electricity occurred in use of the multipurpose folding buggy wagons*. * A stroller shaped like a buggy wagon designed to seat multiple infants
The Korea Consumer Agency (www.kca.go.kr) conducted an investigation upon the case that static electricity occurred in the handle part while using the buggy wagon stroller in park was reported through the Consumer Injury Surveillance System (www.ciss.go.kr).
Upon investigation, the upper parts of wheels were wrapped in a steel frame, and therefore the frictional heat was highly likely to generate static electricity on long-term use. Upon pushing the stroller outdoors for one hour, the metal screw parts on the handle were found to generate static electricity.
The KCA has demanded corrective measures of the HB International, and the business plans to provide complimentary patches to prevent static electricity for about 8,700 strollers which were excluded from the number of strollers sold with the relevant patches or provided with the patches to consumers separately among 12,138 units from October 2014.
The KCA asked consumers using the relevant product to contact the provider*immediately and be provided with the static electricity prevention patches.
