LG Electronics Offers to Repair G2 Smartphones for Free -Touch screen not working or unresponsive-
LG Electronics (LGE) will voluntarily offer free repair service for certain G2 smartphone models in which touch screens do no work or are unresponsive.
A report filed via the Consumer Injury Surveillance System (CISS) with respect to touch screens not working or being unresponsive while using G2 smartphone led the Korea Consumer Agency (www.kca.go.kr) to investigate.
The investigation found that touch screen components failed to function properly if absorbing moisture or perspiration transferred from the hand.
The KCA recommended corrective measures to the company such as offering free repair. In accepting the KCA’s recommendation, LGE decided to offer free repairs for defective touch screens used in three of its smartphone models (LG-F320K, LG-F320L, LG-F320S) that were sold from August 7, 2013.
However, free repairs will not be provided in cases where smartphones are damaged due to external impact, get wet or come into contact with water, or problems occur after receiving repairs from a third-party vendor.
The KCA advised consumers to contact LGE (☎1544-7777) if touch screens do not work or are unresponsive during usage. |
