Samchully to replace children’s bicycle components for free -Concerns over damage to front frame due to weak welds-
Samchully Co., Ltd. will voluntarily offer free replacement for components used in “SAM TRIKE 300” (bicycle for children) due to concerns over possible damage to bicycle frames.
The Korea Consumer Agency (www.kca.go.kr) investigated after a report was filed via the Consumer Injury Surveillance System (CISS) that a child was injured while riding his bicycle due to a damaged frame.
The KCA discovered that weak welding on the bicycle frame may result in damage to the part that connects the main body and front wheel fork*, even if a child weighing less than 20kg (weight limit) rides the bicycle. * A wheel fork on its lower end is divided into two parts.
In order to ensure children’s safety, the KCA recommended Samchully to take corrective action toward bicycles already sold. The bicycle manufacturer, in accepting the KCA’s recommendation, decided to replace for free weak-welded wheel forks with improved forks for items with serial numbers from L13I00001 to L13I02800.
The KCA advised consumers who own the relevant bicycle to immediately contact Samchully (02-2671-3000) to receive fork replacements for free.
