KCA, Started Supporting Reorganization of Consumer Complaint Handling System in Developing Countries

- Held the workshop with Uzbekistan FCPO (Federation of Consumer Protection Organizations of Uzbekistan) -

 

  The Korea Consumer Agency(www.kca.go.kr) announced that it hosted the workshop with delegates of FCPO (Head : Sarimsokov Jakhongir) in Chungcheongbuk-do on November 17th.

* Federation of Consumer Protection Organizations of Uzbekistan is the united organizations which deal with consumer affairs and signed the joint project for consumers' rights protection with the Korea Consumer Agency and the State Competition Committee on September.

   The KCA explained that the delegates visited the KCA based on the joint project of Uzbekistan consumers' rights protection, and improvement of the consumer complaint handling system as the primary task.

   The KCA offered general information on KCA's characteristics, tasks, etc., and shared experience and know-how related to the whole procedure of the complaint handling system, counseling, damage redress, dispute resolution, to the delegates. It also planed to provide advisory service for improvement of Uzbekistan's complaint handling system.

   In addition, it scheduled the study visit to experience complaint handling systems of enterprises which was the subject of consumer protection. Especially, one of the interesting parts of major activities was to understand the KCA. According to this fact, the KCA announced that it would plan to establish an independent government institution in Uzbekistan which the president of Uzbekistan ordered during the visit of KCA delegates.

   This workshop can be a good opportunity to share the Korean consumer complaint handling system with the central Asian countries, and promote the national interest, contributing to the government task performance, ‘Materialization of middle-power taking responsibility for world peace and development’ and supporting Korean enterprises in local areas through supportive activities for 2 years.

   In the same vein, the KCA have supported the vitalization of consumer polices in developing countries since 2013.
