The 3rd Session of the OECD Working Party on Consumer Product Safety was held in Seoul | |||||

The Korea Consumer Agency (President: Young-seen Kim, www.kca.go.kr) and the Korea Fair Trade Commission held the 3rd sessionxx of the OECD Working Party on Consumer Product Safety in Seoul on Nov. 3rd, 2011.
The OECD Committee on Consumer Protection (CCP) has set up the OECD Working Party on Consumer Product Safety and already held two rounds of int’l meetings (each in Brussels and Paris), aiming at strengthening global alliance for consumer safety. The KFTC and the KCA have a full membership of the Working Party, representing Korea. Meanwhile, Dr. Tae-hyun Moon of the KCA is the Vice Chair of the Working Group.
The Meeting was joined by 50 participants from 19 nations including the US, Australia, Canada, and Japan, and the five international organizations such as the OECD, the EU, the ASEAN, and the OAS. Issues covered this time include: tracking and traceability, development of product recall web portal in each nation and plans for information-sharing, main issues and policy development related to safety by nation.
