Celebrating ‘Day of Older Persons (Oct. 2nd)’, the Korea Consumer Agency (President: Young-seen Kim, www.kca.go.kr) invited 25 senior citizens from its neighboring senior citizen center on Sept. 30th and provided a variety of informative programs in relation to consumption. Through the three-hour-long event, those participants had an opportunity of having first hand-on experience of green consumption, which could be put into practice in daily lives, in a Pavilion named ‘Green Life Home’. For reference, the Pavilion was established in the building by the Korea Consumer Agency on Sept. 1st, 2010 as part of the Korean Government’s Green Growth Policy. Meanwhile, a small tour to testing and inspection facilities of the KCA was arranged for those visitors. In particular, those facilities were used to test quality and safety of consumer products for senior citizens such as motorized wheelchairs, senior walkers, and other devices to assist senior citizens in walking, and other health products in which senior citizens are quite interested. Also, a special educative sessionxx was provided to prevent consumer damages that can occur to senior citizens.
