Korea Fair Trade Commission and Korea Consumer Agency held the 4th Consultative Meeting on Consumer Policy among China, Japan & Korea and Consumer Policy Forum at Seoul Palace Hotel for two days from Aug. 26th.
The Consultative Meeting on Consumer Policy among China, Japan & Korea was designed to protect and empower consumer rights in East Asia, aiming information sharing and mutual cooperation among the three nations. The Meeting is held biannually by turns in the three countries.
In particular, various subjects such as Consumer Policy Trend and Issues in the Participants, Consumer Safety Information System and Development Plans, Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) System in the Participants, and Development and Operation Plans for the Consultative Meeting were dealt with at the Meeting.
The Participating nations showed keen interests in cooperation plans to secure consumer safety in the Participants and promptly resolve cross-border transaction and addressed them in depth.
All 19 participants (eight from Korea, four from China, and seven from Japan) were from each nation’s government organizations for Consumer Policy and consumer organizations.
The three nations are expected to review a plan of organizing a working group to draw specified policy issues and hold an annual working group meeting through consultations among China, Japan, & Korea. |
