Necessaries Price Information Website Improved | ||||||||

The Korea Consumer Agency (President: Kim, Young-Seen, www.kca.go.kr) said that it reorganized its website (www.price.tgate.or.kr) of providing price information on daily necessities launched in late-2009 and offer additional services such as various statistical information and price information of necessaries by retailer in my region to consumers from May 28, 2010.
※ The necessaries price information provision project started its operation from April 1, 2010 after a pilot run from Dec. 21, 2009. Currently, the website provides actual sales price of 80 daily necessities sold at 135 retailers in total of five different store formats nationwide such as discount stores, department stores, super supermarket (SSM), convenience store (cvs), and traditional market on a weekly basis.
On ‘Price Statistics Menu’, consumer can check a variety of statistics information such as average price by region or business format as well as price trend such as sales price trend and fluctuation (%) in prices. Also, ‘Price Information in My Region’ provides price information at a glance on necessaries by retailer through a retailer search in the region of Seoul, Metropolitan Area, or Metropolitan City.
The KCA continues to carry out reorganization its website to help consumers to search goods prices by retailer in an easier manner. The Agency plans to provide map services enabling consumers to easily find how to get retailer stores in his/ her region as well as information on stores in his or her region giving the lowest selling price.
