KCA and KOTRA signed an MOU
On April 22nd, the two agencies concluded an MOU
for mutual cooperation in following business areas
1. Improving Korea’s national image in the int’l arena by supporting consumer redress of foreign residents in Korea;
2. Supporting each other agency’s training programs to venture into the global market;
3. Sharing information including providing published materials;
4. Supporting each other’s international cooperative projects
The Korea Consumer Agency (President: Kim, Young-Seen, www.kca.go.kr) signed an MOU with the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (President: Hwan-Eik Cho) on April 22nd. The two agencies signed the MOU for mutual cooperation to create consumer-friendly global business opportunities. The MOU was concluded as the two agencies share the necessity of the MOU in order to improve Korea’s national image in the international arena by enhancing the status of the organization as an agency specializing in service and supporting consumer redress of foreigners living in Korea.
As the MOU was concluded with the number of foreigners residing in Korea rising, it is projected that the MOU shall largely benefit foreign residents in Korea by empowering their consumer rights. Also, the MOU is expected to eventually upgrade consumer-friendly transaction environment of Korea and also strengthen global business capacity of Korea by supporting training programs of each other agency for nurturing professionals.
Accordingly, the two agencies plan to conduct a variety of cooperative projects in the following areas:
1. Improving Korea’s national image in the int’l arena by supporting consumer redress of foreigners residing in Korea;
2. Supporting each other agency’s training programs to venture into the global market;
3. Sharing information including providing published materials;
4. Supporting each other’s international cooperative projects
A source from the KCA mentioned that this time of the MOU conclusion would create a more consumer-friendly global business opportunity based on close cooperative relations of the two agencies.
