KCA President took part in the ICPEN Washington Conference

The KCA President Young-seen Kim paid a visit to Washington D.C. of the US on May 3rd for 5-day-long schedule to participate in the ICPEN Washington Conference. She addressed the meeting with a topic of ‘Recent Consumer Protection Issues and Countermeasures in Korea’. During her visit to Washington, the KCA President met with the US FTC Chairman Jon Leibowitz to talk about the USFTC-KCA Joint Seminar scheduled on early-June and the so-called ASEAN Initiative (cooperation plan to help consumer protection projects in the ASEAN region. Also, she shared thoughts with the US CPSC Chairman Inez Moore Tenenbaum on cross-border information-sharing on consumer products.  
 
International Consumer Protection and Enforcement Network (ICPEN)
The ICPEN was established in Oct., 1992. The Network was mainly participated by the OECD CCP member nations at the time of the establishment. Major functions of the network include discussions of information and cooperation related to consumer policy among member nations at the global level in order to prevent deceptive cross-border transactions and resolve the problems.
