The Korea Consumer Agency (President Myung-hee Park, www.kca.go.kr) is going to hold a Green Consumption Seminar under the theme of ‘Green Growth and the Role and Priorities of Consumers’ in the Auditorium on the 13th floor of the KCA today.
During the seminar, there will be an announcement of ‘the Role and Priorities of Low Carbon Green Growth and Green Consumption’ selected by 110 consumer leaders in Korea. The leaders chose developing green technology, promoting green management, and spreading green consumption as the top three priorities. They said that the biggest stumbling block in practicing green consumption was low consumer awareness (28.4%) followed by the lack of co-operation system (26.6%) among the government, consumers, and corporations for green growth. They continued to suggest launching a nationwide campaign for raising public awareness for green consumption.
