Consumer education symposium, on the job training, and site tour programs | |||||

▣ Consumer education symposium
○ The KCA hosted the symposium under the theme of 「Global market competitiveness & consumer education」 on June 20, 2008. At the symposium, the current consumer education status in terms of consumers, business and government were enlightened. And also, the participants discussed specific ways to train global consumers for the enhancement of consumer competitiveness.
▣ Contest for real case experience on the consumer’s rights realization
○ The KCA is holding the public contest for「Real case experience on the consumer’s rights realization」in conjunction with the Korea Fair Trade Commission and the National Council of Consumer Organizations in order to encourage the consumer’s role as a market monitor.
○ Under the theme of “Consumers’ proper action can realize their rights”, any consumers can participate and submit their experiences in paper, UCC or movie.
▣ Site tour program
○ The Korea Consumer Agency is conducting the site tour programs for consumers and organizations.
○ The details for site programs are as follows; - No. of participants: 10~40 persons per tour (students or organizations) - Video viewing (120minutes) about the KCA and『The roles of the Testing & Research Department』of the KCA - Site tour for the KCA facilities including testing laboratories, consumer counseling center and PR displaying hall.
▣ On-the-job training programs
○ The KCA offers on-the-job training opportunities for college and college graduate students to improve consumer problem solving capability.
- Participants: Students whose majors are Consumer studies or related studies to acquire the certificate of ‘consumer specialist’ - Training duration per program: 40 hours per program - 3 time programs are planned for July 2008. |
