Nike Korea Voluntarily Recalls Athletic Shoes Due to Dye Smearing - Dye Smearing on AIR MAX Women’s Athletic Shoes -
The Korea Consumer Agency (www.kca.go.kr) conducted an investigation after the consumer complaints that purple dye smeared from Nike’s AIR MAX women’s athletic shoes* was reported through Consumer Injury Surveillance System (CISS). * Model name: NIKE WMNS AIR MAX ST 705003-103 After wearing the shoes for approximately eight hours, the purple dye of fabric from heel smeared onto the socks or shoelaces.
KCA has demanded Nike Sports of taking corrective action including product recalls. Nike Sports has accepted it and will provide refunds or exchange them to a different color product of the same model for the 3,290 pairs among the 3,381 pairs sold (between May and September 2015) excluding 91 pairs which had already been refunded.
KCA recommends that when dye smearing occurs in using the relevant product, consumers contact the Nike Sports Consumer Service Center (080-022-0182) to receive a refund or free-of-charge exchange. |
